January Shelter Cat of the Month

We're going to start the year off with a musical act! Well, okay, not exactly, but these sisters always put me in mind of the Haynes sisters from White Christmas. You can generally tell when I've been visiting them because I walk around singing a certain song under my breath. So of course I had to use it in their video.

Ethel & Gillian

UPDATE 1/3: ETHEL & GILLIAN HAVE BEEN ADOPTED! HOORAY!

These two lovely ladies have been at the shelter since July. They were brought in with a whole group of other cats when it became clear that their person had more kitties than they could care for. All but three have been adopted - these beauties and sweet Finnian.

Both of these girls are very sweet and loving, though Gillian is the more reserved of the pair. Give her time to get to know you, though, and she'll be rubbing and purring as much as her sister. They are only 3 1/2 years old, so you will have plenty of time together as a family.

One of our super cool volunteers planned to help with Margaret's rescue costs, but the money had been raised so she put her donation towards sponsoring Gillian's and Ethel's adoption fees. Such generosity should not go unappreciated, and the best form of gratitude would be providing a good home for these kitties.

If one of your New Year's resolutions was to change lives, here's your chance to change two without spending a cent (though you're always welcome to pay it forward and sponsor the adoption fees of other cats).

Be Ethel & Gillian's hero: adopt! donate! share!
