July Shelter Cat of the Month

Once you meet this sweet, shy girl, she's forever on your mind.

Georgia

UPDATE 10/19: GEORGIA HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!

Georgia can often be found lying in the back of her cubby, watching the world go by from a safe distance. She looks at you with those beautiful blue eyes and her shyness just breaks your heart.

She has come a long way in the six months she has spent at Great Plains. At first, she would curl up in a ball with her back to the door and flinch whenever she was petted. She has gradually learned that people aren't big bads, though, and now she accepts attention willingly, even returning the affection by rubbing her cheek on your hand.

What this lady really needs is a quiet home with patient people who understand that it will take some time for her to adjust to a new environment, but that she'll be a loyal and loving pet once she trusts them. Stability and security do so much for these shy critters.
