August Shelter Cat of the Month

This Mr. Big Stuff will never break your heart.

Jimmy

UPDATE 11/2: JIMMY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

This big fella is so fluffy that you just want to grab him and squeeze him! While he may eventually allow that, it's probably not the best way to start your relationship. Jimmy here has diabetes insipidus, so he has been subjected to quite a bit of handling with his medicine. He loves petting and chin scratches and ear rubs, but being grabbed really isn't his thing (something that's actually true of many cats).

Because of his condition, Jimmy does need daily shots and he must have access to a large supply of fresh water...and an extra large litter box. The last requirement is because his condition causes him to pee a lot and because he's just a really big cat. He's not going to fit in those itty bitty boxes.

Medical issues aside, this dude has a serious fan club. Everyone who meets him loves him, and it's not hard to understand why. He's intelligent, affectionate, and playful. And as you can see, he's absolutely gorgeous.

Jimmy has been at the shelter for nearly a year and a half, but he has only recently been moved to the adoption floor. The doc wanted to make sure she had a handle on his meds before releasing him for adoption. He's good to go now, so I'm hoping his forever family will come through the doors soon.

Be Jimmy's hero: adopt! donate! share!
